Down to two days left.

November 30, 2008

I decided to do a lil write up now that i have a couple of days left to go.  I am flying out on Dec 3rd thus there wont be any studying then. For the month i have been going over theory from several topics that i need to refresh mself on as well several practice labs. I only focused on the IE labs since thats all the time i had left.  I didnt start going through full scale labs until Nov 20th as of when i actually took off from work.  I did several full scale labs, and then since time is/was of the essence decided to go over several hand picked labs/tasks that i wanted to hone in on. I feel better but there is that nagging feeling in the back of my head. Nerves!!!. I think, am not sure but we shall see.  I know i could be better speed wise, but i always say if i can configure it correctly and understand whats being asked then speed will be less of a concern. Thats just me, i cant speak for anyone else.

So i am down to two days left, going over a few labs again along with some IPV6 overview. On top of this all my smoke detector has been on the fritz since 6 am CST and even changing the batteries hasnt helped. I guess i ll be in the lab with that beeping sound stuck in my head.

Time for me to get back to studying. Wish me luck if you read this blog. Thx in advance. Happy Holidays folks and be safe out there.

update from tonight.

I worked on a couple of IE vol 3 labs this evening.  I am getting better with speed but still made some mistakes on question interpretation and configuring the wrong interface along with a couple of duh moments on a few tasks.  I am calling it a night on this.

I also wanted to mention my lab access didnt kick in till 30 minutes after the fact. Gradedlabs.com you are really getting on my nerves,  and i hope you read this if you are out there. I could not get access to the rack with the super simple userid password that they gave me.   I emailed GL about this as soon as i found i didnt have access.  It took them roughly 40 minutes to reply back to my email in which they said we could get in to the rack with your user id passwork. Well by that time i was in it also merrily configuring some dot1q trunks. I replied back that i could get in, and also asked that since i have had so many issues maybe some reimbursement could take place if not then maybe they can just cancel my last 3 sessions so i can take my biz elsewhere…… no reply on that. An hour later i received another reply that the problem was due to a configuration issue on my end which lead to a software crash!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant say i ever thought i would get a reply back like that from anyone. How can a login issue be attributed to a configuration problem that i created when i didnt event get in to the rack.

Ok nuff said on this sad sordid detail to my lab configuration tonight.  Hopefully come Dec 5th, i wont need RS racks from IE anymore. Worse comes to worse if i do, then my biz is going somewhere else.

time to hit the sack, and dream away to the wondrous sounds of a smoke detector beeping away. I have another rack rental session from IE tomorrow. Hopefully it goes through without any hiccups.
